Hello to my ADHD peeps and ADHD loved ones,
I am going to start this blog off with saying that I am going to write short blog posts, and the main reason behind this is because I understand that reading with ADHD is not always the most fun activity.
I grew up in a small rural town in California. I understand to some people this does come as a surprise, but California does have small towns with populations that are below 100,000. (Before anyone asks no I do not know how to surf) My town had a population that hovers around 10,000 people so relatively small. Many people that live in that town make jokes about how there is more livestock than people.
Growing up in this small town was nice because the community itself was pretty close. It was not uncommon to go to the local Walmart and have to spend twice the amount of time you believed you were going to spend because you run into people that have to update you on the small town gossip. (“Yes I heard Kevin ended up getting a DUI.” “No I don’t know what he is going to do.”) I ended up spending 17 years straight in my hometown before I had the opportunity to leave, but that is for a later post.
I was the third child from my parents and within the first couple months of my life my mother already realized that I was not like other children…
